Jaklien Verham is a singer, songwriter, media composer and producer based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. 

With a background in performing with various bands as a singer across the country, Jaklien embarked on a journey of musical exploration. This journey culminated in the creation of her independent music project, Skyelar, which began around 2017.

Following her true path, Jaklien studied Music Theory and History at The Schumann Academy in Utrecht, complementing her course with studies in Music Production, and began composing her unique brand of inspirational music during this time. Drawing inspiration from her studies Jaklien infuses her compositions with rich textures and emotive storytelling. Combining soaring vocals with brooding, atmospheric arrangements, Skyelar's music invites listeners into a cinematic world of introspection and wonder.

Skyelar's debut album, 'Lucid Dreaming,' released on April 22, 2022, received acclaim from reviewers worldwide. Tracks from the album, along with previous singles like 'Big Town,' 'Moon Dogs,' and 'I Shed My Skin,' have been featured on playlists on platforms like Spotify and enjoyed airplay on indie radio stations such as 'Penguin Radio' in the Netherlands.

In addition to her work as an artist, Jaklien has expanded her creative endeavors into the realm of media composition. Currently, she is developing a sync licensing album featuring ten up-tempo rock songs tailored for various media projects, as well as building a portfolio of compositions suited for film and other visual media.
